Devastating Fire Destroys Historic Prague Building

Four-Alarm Fire Engulfs Sokolovská Residence

Prague, Czechia - A massive fire broke out early this morning at the historic Sokolovská building in Prague's Karlín district, leaving the structure completely destroyed.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m. after reports of flames and smoke coming from the building. The fire quickly spread, engulfing the four-story apartment building and causing it to collapse.

According to the Fire Department, the fire was fuelled by a combination of highly combustible materials within the building and strong winds. The blaze reached its peak at around 6:00 a.m., when the structure collapsed, sending debris flying into the surrounding streets.

Tragically, there have been reported casualties as a result of the fire. Firefighters are currently searching through the rubble for survivors, but it is feared that the death toll could rise.

The Sokolovská building was a historic landmark in Prague, dating back to the 19th century. It was known for its ornate architectural details and had recently undergone renovations.
